BBE Energy in collaboration
with NWU offer a great opportunity to do research and development on a wide
variety of mining engineering subjects. The ideal candidate will further
his/her academic qualifications while simultaneously work with a team of experts
in the following engineering fields:
• Ventilation
Recirculation
• Auxiliary
Ventilation
• Haulage Insulation
• Ventilation and cooling on demand
• Water vapour refrigeration
• Split refrigeration
• Liquid desiccant cooling in ventilation
• Underground water efficiency
• Water pumping optimisation
• Compressed air replacement (Platinum mine)
• Underground compressed air waste management
• Compressed air: Reduce, eliminate or
replace (Agitation – Gold mines)
• Crushing and comminution
• Concentrated solar thermal energy
• CSP and Desalination of water on mines
Requirements:
• SA Citizen
• Registration as student (Honns / Masters or
PhD) at a HEI;
• Work in Pretoria on the projects (Research
in collaboration with chair);
• Should have own transport to get to work
and back.
